Red Aviation was formed by Malcolm Stewart to take on the UK dealership for the Ikarus C42 range of aircraft.
Malcolm has a long history with the C42 starting with the first flight in 2002 which was a ferry flight to Majorca for a flying school who wanted to move to a sunnier climate to continue training during the winter. Since 2006 Malcolm worked on a contract engineer basis for the original C42 UK dealer as Technical Manager and has overseen the UK assembly, test flights and initial CAA permit issue of all C42 aircraft since then - around 150+ in total
Also in the team is Paul Bennett as Chief Test Pilot and Production Manager. Paul is probably the most experienced C42 pilot in the UK, having also been test pilot for the original C42 dealer from 2003 to 2008 and is also CFI for Solent Flight who are a very busy flying school in Southampton operating a fleet of 3 C42's. Many may also know Paul as the flight test report pilot for the BMAA magazine -Microlight Flying.
Dr Paul Welsh is also part of the team and responsible for certification approval of the aircraft and subsequent changes, modifications, equipment and accessories
Mark Deeley looks after admin and accounts and also owns a C42 which he has been flying since 2007
Richard Kilham, very well known in gliding circles, also helps out considerably, not just as our Quality Assessor (a CAA required position in the management team) but also as Richard's company - EES Aviation Services are the official UK C42 repair centre, then he is very busy keeping the C42 fleet in the air with servicing and full repair facilities including composite structures as EES are a BGA approved glider repair organisation.
